About

My name is Dale Utt, and I am the owner and operator of True Edge Archive. My interest in 3D scanning and preservation began during my work with The Oakeshott Institute, a small collection of antique arms and armor in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Using the rare level of access The Oakeshott Institute provided me, I began developing techniques specifically for the capture and preservation of arms and armor, as well as other reflective and polished subjects. What began as a one-off project quickly became a passion, and I made the decision to pursue work in 3D preservation full time. It was at that time in 2018 that I founded True Edge Archive, with the goal of providing affordable techniques to the widest possible audience, while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of 3D capturing techniques.
